Work Schedule:

This is a full time, 1.0 FTE position. Shifts will be scheduled Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. You will work at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

We are seeking a Director Facilities Engineering to:



  • Lead facility maintenance and engineering services across the UW Health system, including facilities management, engineering services, energy program, safety, emergency management, radiation safety, and fleet management.
  • Lead the strategic direction of the maintenance and engineering services team across our six hospitals, ambulatory clinics, and administrative locations in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
  • Lead development of business cases for standardization/process improvement and implement change.
  • Provide expertise and program leadership for compliance with NFPA, TJC, and CMS codes and regulations.
  • Prepare and manage annual capital and operational budgets related to maintenance and engineering services, including a comprehensive facility infrastructure capital plan.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a relevant subject area such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Architecture Required
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Architecture Preferred

Work Experience

  • 7 years relevant experience in the management of Facilities Engineering; including building construction and remodeling activities, project management and/or equipment repair and maintenance) in a large academic health care setting Required
  • Has held administrative position in a large academic or complex health program that included Facilities Engineering specific services Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

  • Wisconsin registration as a Professional Engineer or Architect Preferred
