Work Schedule:

100% FTE, working 10 or 12-hour shifts but mostly 12 hours between 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM hours with a 1:4 weekend rotation, working at University Hospital in Madison, WI. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

As an Advanced Practice Provider, you will play an integral role in our inpatient care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients with the #1 hospital in Wisconsin and the #1 ranked lung transplant program in the nation!

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant - Inpatient Advanced Pulmonary Service to:



  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care to patients with advanced pulmonary disease in an inpatient setting.
  • Care for patients with Cystic Fibrosis, Pulmonary Hypertension, and pre- and post-lung transplant.
  • Conduct comprehensive health history and physical assessment of patients with acute and chronic conditions affecting the respiratory system.
  • Participate in daily rounding and collaborate with the attending or consulting team to adjust plans of care.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree or Doctorate's degree from accredited Nursing Program Required

Education:
If Nurse Practitioner: Master's or Doctorate's degree from accredited Nursing Program.
If Physician Assistant: Bachelor's or Master's degree from accredited PA Program.

Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum - State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure
If Nurse Practitioner*:



  • Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
  • Active board certification as a NP in area of clinical practice. These may include the following: Adult, Adult/Gerontology Primary Care, Adult Acute Care, or Family.


If Physician Assistant*:



  • Active PA license, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
  • Active PA board certification


All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have*: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire
