The National Systems Group serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.

The Advanced Mission Integration Division is adding a Warfighter Systems Integration Engineer (Senior Project Engineer - Multi-Disciplinary Engineering) to evaluate and advise on the design, requirements, and evaluation of warfighter systems reliant on capabilities delivered by space and ground sensors. The focus of the role is to get Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC) and commercial data to warfighter systems faster through innovative ways. You will significantly contribute to influencing projects in the National Reconnaissance Office's (NRO) Mission Integration Directorate.

Work Model

This is a full-time position based in Chantilly, VA, which requires 100% onsite work at a customer location.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Serve as a trusted advisor on the mission capability integration of complex electro-optical, RADAR, and radio-frequency technology into existing and future DoD and IC systems.
  • Apply knowledge of space and ground enterprise to facilitate technical exchanges with cross-program and cross-stakeholder teams to resolve technical issues and deliver enterprise capabilities.
  • Lead engineering assessments with company subject matter experts in modeling and simulation, information systems, mission payloads, and vehicle systems design.
  • Work with industry, government program offices, and labs to identify promising emerging technologies for rapid integration into advanced weapon systems.
  • Work in a government program office and contribute to group efforts.

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements Senior Project Engineer - Multi-Disciplinary Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or an appropriate technical discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively more responsible experience.
  • Experience working with the DoD and/or IC to develop, design, and or test air, ground or space systems.
  • Experience in government program management environments, including the ability to work all phases of design and system acquisition.
  • Working knowledge of DoD and IC interrelationships and space-related issues.
  • Willing to travel domestically approx. up to 10% of the time.
  • This position requires a current and active TS/SBI/SCI security clearance which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. This position will also require the ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph.

  • Expertise in Air Force, Navy, and/or Army CONOPS for long-range kill chain systems and associated architecture of the space enterprise.
  • Fundamental understanding of RF systems and multi-INT mission applications.
