Description


Operator I provides necessary support to the production teams, assist machine operators with assigned tasks, maintain materials and supplies, track inventories, and package finished products.
Responsibilities:
  • Operates a forklift truck to safely deliver materials to and from the factory
  • Reads work orders and/or follow oral instructions to determine materials to be mixed for each run
  • Loads /unloads materials onto or from pallets, gaylords boxes, and shelves via forklift or by hand
  • Loads resins into blenders, grinders, dryers and hoppers by hand or vacuum system
  • Maintains and prepare packaging supplies
  • Packages all finished products ensuring correct packaging material, labels and details, per customer specification
  • Handles materials and inventory control using barcode scanner
  • Assists operators with stringing lines and taking rolls off machines
  • Assists operators with roll data entry, roll changing, changing trim, mounting unwound rolls, cutovers and cleaning the systems
  • Assists warehouse manager with monthly inventory
  • Maintains confidentiality of information such as formulas, supplier names, materials, process conditions and set-up information
  • Other relevant duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required Education & Skillsets:
  • Read a ruler and understand measurements in fractions and decimals
  • Read, write and comprehend instructions and correspondence
  • Communicate effectively with workers and supervisor
  • Add, subtract, divide and multiply with the aid of a calculator
  • Perform calculations that include but are not limited to fractions and decimals
  • Use a computer for basic data entry of production and materials in database

Preferred Education and Skillsets:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Prior Warehouse or manufacturing experience

Physical Demands:
  • Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds
  • Be able to work 12 hours shifts
  • Perform repetitive tasks
  • Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk
  • Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and balance; sometimes in awkward or tight spaces
  • Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
  • Meet Mativ certification requirements to operate Power Industrial Trucks

PPE Requirements:
Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment including;
  • Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe)
  • Safety Glasses
  • Bump Caps
  • Protective Gloves; when performing certain tasks
  • Hearing Protection; when required
  • Other personal protective equipment as required for certain tasks

Work Environment:
Conditions are that of a manufacturing environment.
  • Air Temperatures can range from cold to hot
  • Atmosphere may contain dust, fumes and odors
  • May include mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive and radiation hazards

The hourly rate for this position is $21.25 per hour
