Job Description:

Assists the University Archivist with the processing, inventory, and routine maintenance of university related material housed in Special Collections and Archives, part of Coates Library.

JOB DUTIES

* Independently analyzes and processes archival collections, physically and intellectually arranging and describing archival materials in a variety of formats.

* Independently analyzes and organizes documentation into a subject classification filing system.

* Researches to create and completes accurate data entry of collection and item descriptions in content management systems.

* Assists with the accessioning of new archival materials, including appraisal and selecting, boxing, and moving records.

* Assists in conducting collection development analysis through inventory creation and preservation assessments.

* Works on special projects as assigned.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES
* Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and interacts with confidence,
patience and integrity to provide professional leadership during emergencies.
* Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines.
* Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION

Required:

High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

Degree hours toward a Master's in Library Science, Records Management, Museum Studies, or related field.

EXPERIENCE

Required:

Three years of experience working in a library, archives, museum, or similar setting. Education above what is minimally required may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Required:

Ability to use a computer, a printer, and required client or cloud based applications or systems.

Ability to work under pressure of deadlines.

Proficient in all phases of work performed.

Preferred:
Demonstrated practical knowledge of archival collections policies and procedures and general best practice. Familiarity with Description: A Content Standard (DACS) and Access to Memory and Preservica content management systems.

Assists in supervising student workers.

Reports to the University Archivist.

ATTENDANCE STANDARD

Maintaining and satisfying minimum attendance requirements are an essential requirement of this position, including working all full-
time regular hours as established by the supervisor in addition to any scheduled or emergency overtime.
