Job Overview Arc3 is looking for an Outside Sales Representative to grow Arc3 sales in the Raleigh and Durham markets. A successful Outside Sales Representative will accomplish this through building strong customer relationships and effectively providing technical expertise, support, and service to both existing and potential customers, as well as Arc3's salesforce. This role will involve acquiring in-depth knowledge of Arc3's products and services to provide expert advice to customers, and regularly visiting customer facilities to enhance their processes. Responsibilities and Duties
  • Identify prospective customers using numerous sources, including online research, cold-calling, obtaining leads from existing clients, participating in organizations, and attending trade shows and conferences.
  • Acquire and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the products and services that Arc3 sells, how customers can best use and optimize those products and services, all the while earning "trusted expert" status.
  • Explain Arc3's products and services and prices, and answer customer questions.
  • Regularly visit customer facilities to try to help customers improve their processes.
  • Negotiate and quote prices.
  • Maintain customer records.
  • Prepare and submit sales contracts for orders.
  • Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, and credit terms.
  • Compute customer's installation or production costs and estimate savings from new products and services.
  • Prepare sales presentations or proposals to explain product specifications or applications, with and without Arc3's partner vendors.
  • Inform customers of estimated delivery schedules, service contracts, warranties, and other information pertaining to purchased products.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information.
  • Distribute resources, such as samples and promotional and educational materials.
  • Promote and sell service contracts for technical products.
  • Demonstrate the operation or use of technical products.
  • Arrange for installation and testing of products and machinery.
  • Verify accuracy of materials lists.
  • Consult with vendors and other salespersons regarding resolving customers' technical problems with products.
  • Handle customer complaints and help quickly resolve issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • English language proficiency required.
  • Possession of a 4-year degree in a relevant major and/or a vocational degree is preferred.
  • Must possess a high school diploma with a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in the industrial gases and/or welding supplies distribution industry.
  • Two to five years of direct sales experience is required.
  • Must possess a clean driving record and NCDL to drive company vehicle for business use only.
  • Must be willing to obtain a CDL-B and Hazmat endorsement.
  • Must be able to obtain a forklift license, provided by Arc3.
  • Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and workload with little to no supervision.
  • Problem solving skills are required.

Working Conditions

  • Transportation and handling of Hazardous Materials such as compressed gases.
  • Retail store environment and computer work.
  • Frequent travel to customer sites and driving a company vehicle.
  • Sitting and standing for extended periods of time, reaching and bending at the waist, lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to work weekends on a rotated schedule for emergency call-ins.
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
