Work Schedule: Works flexible schedule including varied shifts, weekend hours, overnights, and holidays if required.

The Goodwill Staffing (GSS) - Security Officer (Field Operations Supervisor) position may become a full-time, temp-to-hire, permanent position.

This job is eligible for Paid Sick and Safe Time (PSST) under the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act.

JOB SUMMARY:

Goodwill Staffing is a full-service staffing agency within Goodwill of Colorado. Goodwill Staffing offers many employment opportunities such as temporary-to-hire and temporary day labor positions. Goodwill Staffing serves the Colorado Springs and Denver areas. Goodwill Staffing works with a variety of Clients offering a variety of job opportunities.

The Security Officer (Field Operations Supervisor) is expected to ensure all evening operations are completed. This person should be able to mentor, train, and be responsible for other security officers. The supervisor is responsible to cover all evening shifts with guards, but is also expected to fill in when coverage is not available. Schedule flexibility is required for this position, including overnights.

This position prefers candidates with a "Guard Card" and two-years of managing in the security field.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Enforcing company policies and procedures
  • Training security officers
  • Scheduling and managing shifts
  • Inspections of officers
  • Review PMCS reports
  • Filling in for vacant shifts



QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:



  • A High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Security guard training certification is required.



Experience:



  • Previous experience in security is required.
  • Previous experience in supervision is required.



Other:



  • Must have a valid Colorado drivers license.
  • Must have a security license - "Guard Card".
  • Must pass background check, *per CLIENT'S background policy.
  • Knowledge: On public safety & security regulations and city codes.
  • Knowledge: On customer service to include meeting our quality standards for security services.
  • Knowledge: On the English language structure and content including meaning and spelling of words as well as proper grammar etiquette.
  • Knowledge: On smart phones, tablets, and application use during duty.
  • Skills: Excellent observational skills and paying attention to detail.
  • Skills: Have an authoritative verbal communicative ability to convey information effectively.
  • Skills: Listening to others, not interrupting and asking appropriate questions.
  • Skills: Problem solving, noticing a problem and figuring out the best way to solve it.
  • Skills: Able to understand written sentences and paragraphs on work related documents. (reports)
  • Ability: To remain calm in high pressure situations.
  • Ability: To de-escalate high pressure situations and not react inappropriately.
  • Ability: To learn the layout off the property and buildings during your route.
  • Ability: To navigate to properties in a timely manner.
  • Ability: To multi-task efficiently.
  • Ability: To complete online training modules to keep up with our standards.
  • Ability to get along with other employees and supervisors, follow directions, and showing the desire to learn new things and always give your best.

  • Physical/ Basic Requirements:




    • Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly.


    • Prolonged periods of driving and standing.
    • Must provide proof of valid driver's license.
    • Must have working smart phone.
    • Must be able to walk for long periods of time, I.E Walking up and down stairs.
    • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.
    • Must be 21 years of age or older, *per CLIENT's policy.
    • Pass a drug and background test, *per CLIENT's policy.


  • The incumbent will be required and must have the ability to drive for company business*.


Background Compliance:

*Per auto vehicle insurance carrier requirements: For applicants/employees to qualify for inclusion on the Goodwill driver insurance schedule, for purpose of driving Goodwill fleet vehicles, they must be at least:

* 19 years of age (not engaged in passenger transportation),
* 25 - 70 years of age for all passenger transportation services,
* 21 years of age for CDL.

Applicants/employee will be required to undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and background check; applicants/employees must disclose all moving traffic violations or vehicle crashes (within the last three (3) years)(Note: not all violations are a disqualification for employment and each case will be reviewed by the insurance carrier); must have valid Colorado State driver license; must also be able to operate company vehicle, and adhere to all Federal, State, and local laws governing vehicle operation.

Applicant/employees using their personal vehicle for company business, must have valid vehicle insurance, valid driver license, and vehicle must be in roadworthy condition.

* In accordance with the CLIENT'S security and background requirements, the incumbent must pass a thorough background check per the CLIENT's contract. This may include a criminal history search, CBI/FBI fingerprints, CBI name check, MVR/DMV search, psychological screening, sex offender search, SAM/OIG search, CAPS check, DORA check, drug and/or alcohol screening, DOT testing, or any additional requirement set forth by the CLLENT to ensure security compliance.
