The Healthcare Regulatory Policy Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing various policy projects within the ROPS Government Payor Alliance team.

Government Payor Alliance (GPA) Team optimizes revenue and patient advocacy through public policy monitoring, data analysis, and issue resolution. GPA supports internal teams to problem solve, identify potential legal and compliance risk, and manage initiatives across Revenue Operations (ROPS) and the Village through key relationships with external partners. The successful candidate for this role will have a driven attitude, motivated by the achievement of making a direct impact on the projects that they lead, and will flourish in a highly dynamic, cross-functional team environment.

Job Duties:

  • Monitoring federal policy developments relevant to ROPS; conduct legislative/regulatory research; develop advocacy priorities and positions
  • Synthesize complex government programs/regulations into business terms to assist with policy recommendations to Federal Government Affairs
  • Support ROPS efforts with specific offices within HHS including CMS, CMMI, ESRD PPS team, CCIIO, MA and Technology and Coding team
  • Attend meetings/briefings relevant to kidney care policy issues and provide summaries and overviews as needed
  • Build financial models to support legislative and regulatory advocacy
  • Serve as Liaison with Compliance, Medical Records, and other teams, partner as assigned to communicate new information as relevant, to identify areas of opportunity for process improvement, and to develop partnerships as needed to ensure accurate and timely Government Billing and follow up
  • Project Management where you will {take ownership and} assist managing various projects. You will oversee the workflow, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to coordinate timelines and deliverables. Your role will involve developing comprehensive project plans, tracking progress, and documenting decisions to ensure alignment across all stakeholders. By maintaining a high level of organization and communication, you will help drive successful project outcomes while ensuring that projects are delivered with the highest quality standards.
  • In depth knowledge of state and federal policy.

Job-related knowledge:

  • Understanding of the Federal regulatory processes and familiarity with the legislative process
  • Knowledge of and experience with of Medicare payment, Medicare Advantage, and other healthcare policies and systems
  • Ability to analyze legislative and regulatory publications and coherently distill the output

Job-related skills:

  • Strong writing skills
  • MS-Office Suite: Word, Excel and other database programs, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to analyze regulatory publications

BA or BS degree or equivalent is required. Previous health care payment policy work experience in a health association, governmental agency, or the private sector dealing with Medicare, health care payment policy, or other health policy issues, required. Experience in kidney care policy preferred.

Salary/ Wage Range

$68,000.00-$115,000.00 / year If a candidate is hired, they will be paid at least the minimum wage according to their geographical jurisdiction and the exemption status for the position.
New York Exempt:
*New York City and Long Island: $64,350.00/year
*Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $64,350.00/year
*Remainder of New York state: $60,405.80/year
New York Non-exempt:
*New York City and Long Island: $16.50/hour
*Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $16.50/hour
*Remainder of New York state: $15.50/hour
Washington Exempt: $77,968.80/year
Washington Non-exempt:
*Bellingham: $17.66/hour
*Burien: $21.16/hour
*Unincorporated King County: $20.29/hour
*Renton: $20.90/hour
*Seattle: $20.76/hour
*Tukwila: $21.10/hour
*Remainder of Washington state: $16.66/hour
