Sponsor Funded Professional- Graduation Counselor

Georgia State University

Enrollment Management

Transfer and Transition Center

The Panther Promise Programs enables Georgia State University to provide a specialized, intensive cohort experience called the Promise Academy (PA), for a smaller cohort of transition students in the humanities disciplines once they transfer to the main campus. Focusing on humanities students in a grant-funded pilot of PA will ensure that the program is tailored around meta-majors, as is Georgia State's common (and effective) practice. This will ensure that funding provided by the Mellon Foundation supports the mutual goal of ensuring success for community college students who seek bachelor's degrees in humanities fields. In the future, we envision expanding PA offerings to also serve students in other meta-majors, based on what we learn through designing a P3 program for humanities students.

The Panther Promise Program (P3) program will offer academic advisement, student financial planning, and professional development for humanities students at Perimeter College. This programming will help them complete their 4-year degrees after starting their educational journey in a 2-year program.

The Graduation Counselor will work with P3 to provide a cohesive cohort experience for all students engaged with Panther Promise. P3 graduation transition advisors will oversee the program in its entirety.

The Transfer and Transition Center seeks to hire (1) Graduation Counselor who will be responsible for assisting students in Humanities pathways develop a graduation and transition plan to facilitate the completion of their degree program and transition to their bachelor's degree program in a timely manner.
