Molex's Corporate Development & Strategy team is seeking a Director of Corporate Development to join its M&A team. Molex's M&A team supports Molex's corporate and division leadership with sourcing, analyzing, and executing M&A opportunities in addition to other investments and divestitures.

What You Will Do

The Director of Corporate Development will work collaboratively with Molex leadership to evaluate and execute acquisition, investment, and divestiture opportunities. In this role, you will primarily focus on Molex's core electronics businesses including opportunities in the consumer, datacom, industrial, transportation, and aerospace and defense industries. You will work closely with business and strategy teams to develop and manage an active target pipeline, analyze various opportunities, and execute transactions.

This role is based out of Molex's Chicago (IL) office. There is also an expectation of work in Molex's corporate headquarters based in Lisle (IL) as appropriate given the importance of fostering relationships and collaborating with senior leaders across the company. This role will require travel (estimated at 20% of time) to engage with target companies, industry conferences, and internal Molex teams.

The Director of Corporate Development is expected own the end-to-end M&A process from developing the pipeline funnel through deal completion. This role is positioned as a critical thought partner to Molex leadership as the company analyzes and executes on inorganic investment opportunities.

In this role, you will focus on:

Target Pipeline Development: Partner with the Molex leadership to develop, refine, and set strategic priorities and develop action plans, milestones, and tracking mechanisms to drive execution and implementation
* Understand strategic priorities of business and support decision making on M&A focus areas
* Support division and strategy teams on identifying potential targets and developing investment theses
* Drive consistent pipeline review process for identified targets
* Maintain engagement and build relationships with potential target companies
* Engage with relevant stakeholders (investment banks, private equity firms) to facilitate deal activity
* Monitor and evaluate key market trends, dynamics, value chain participants and translate into actionable insights for Molex leadership

Deal Execution: Lead teams and serve as a trusted advisor to Molex leadership throughout M&A process
* Apply agile and disciplined process to effectively guide organization through M&A process
* Analyze acquisition opportunities and develop succinct, thorough investment evaluations
* Lead team in developing appropriate financial cases to analyze economic returns and valuation
* Learn and apply Molex and Koch decision making and investment frameworks
* Lead cross-functional team of subject matter experts to effectively diligence target company
* Facilitate deal review discussions and approval process with Molex and Koch senior management
* Serve as primary interface for seller and target company throughout process and negotiations

Other Activities:
* Lead other investment and inorganic partnership activities that align with strategic priorities
* Support decision-making process on potential divestitures and lead execution of sell side activities
* Actively contribute to Molex and Corporate Development team culture
* Promote knowledge sharing and capability development of Corporate Development team members
* Provide support and leadership for post-acquisition integration activities

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

* 8+ years of career experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate M&A or related role(s)
* Experience in corporate environment with focus on managing M&A activities
* Demonstrated knowledge and application of M&A pipeline and active deal processes
* Expertise in financial analysis for valuation, economic thinking, and investment decision making
* MBA or Bachelor's degree with focus on Finance, Business, Accounting or other relevant coursework
* Experience managing cross-functional teams to navigate complexities and achieve successful outcomes
* Ability to influence decision making and navigate organizational dynamics without direct authority
* Driven by desire to make an impact and deliver best outcomes for the organization
* Structured and logical thinking with demonstrated ability to discern what is most critical and important
* Powerful written communication skills used to succinctly articulate key elements of complex topics
* Strong verbal communication and experience expressing and defending perspectives with senior leaders

For this role, we anticipate paying $195,000-$225,000 per year. This role is also eligible for variable pay, issued as monetary bonus or in another form.
