Encova Insurance has an opening for a Credit Analyst working within collections and receivables at our Charleston, WV office. In this role, you will work full-time in office during onboarding and training with the possibility to move to hybrid schedule once these are complete.

This role will report to the Manager, Accounts Receivable and Collections.

JOB OBJECTIVE:

The Credit Analyst job function involves ensuring that customers pay their invoices on time and in full. The core responsibility is the collection of past due premiums and reconciliation of account balances. Fundamental to the collection role is the answering of billing questions to customers and internal business units seeking clarification of the billing statements and process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Analyzes current policy data and billing statements of individuals or firms to determine the account balances.
  • Prepares varies reports as assigned, to support the Receivables Manager in making billing and collection decisions.
  • Contacting customers: Calling or emailing customers to request payment, ask about overdue payments, or send statements.
  • Researching accounts: Reviewing historical data, identifying delinquent accounts, and conducting account analysis
  • Creating payment plans: Working with clients to negotiate acceptable payment schedules.
  • Processing payments:Verifying and processing payments and refunds
  • Resolving issues:Addressing billing and credit issues, and providing customer support
  • Maintaining records: Keeping customer files up to date, and creating reports on account status

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Other duties as assigned by the Receivables Manager to support Company goals.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • One to two years' previous collection experience preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to professionally and effectively interact with internal and external team members and customers.
  • Good computer skills, including proficiency in internet, Excel and Word.
  • Critical thinking skills, including the ability to identify issues, apply sound logic to work-related matters in order to make effective decisions or recommendations.
  • Effective oral communication skills, including the ability to clearly, succinctly articulate ideas and responses and relay information.

  • Effective reading comprehension skills.
  • Ability to effectively share knowledge with others.
