Advantage xPO is seeking new talent in Columbia, SC, and hiring a new Compression Technician for Wabtec, a leading global provider of equipment, systems, digital solutions, and value-added
services for freight and transit rail. The candidate selected will be responsible for using various hand and power tools, fixtures, and work instructions to perform a series of operations to assemble and disassemble components correctly. Pay: $18 per hour

1st Shift Hours: 8 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday

Essential Functions:



  • Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts, and subassemblies.
  • Disassembles components by utilizing hand and power tools.
  • Cleans and buffs components.
  • Wash components in solvent and run parts through the parts washer.
  • Blowout parts to remove solvent and dirt.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace following 5S protocol.
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).

Requirements:



  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of related experience (light industrial/mechanical background).
  • Mechanically inclined and familiar with basic hand tools.
  • Knowledge of machine testing procedures.
  • Strong detail orientation and basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform the same task repeatedly.
