Vocational Rehabilitation Coordinator

Primary Duties

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.

  • Conduct in-depth interviews with individuals with disabilities requiring rehabilitation strategies to determine eligibility services and the feasibility for achieving employment outcomes including any and all Ability One positions.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports including participant reports, case notes, and other supporting documentation for program funders, including Individualized Employment Evaluations for Ability One compliance within State and Federal Guidelines.
  • Access client information, maintain case records, produce correspondence, and perform other automated functions within the scope of the position's responsibilities; assess medical, psychological, and vocational information to determine eligibility for Ability One employment.
  • Complete monthly billing duties for Community Integrated Employment (CIE) to include maintaining detailed spreadsheets to ensure accurate billing and documentation.
  • Mentor and train job coaches as assigned in areas such as reporting, support standards or writing guidelines.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure the accuracy of all documentation required for Ability One compliance.
  • Work with medical professionals to produce documentation of disability that meets or exceeds Ability One compliance guidelines.
  • Field phone calls from customers, participants, program funders, employees, employer partners and troubleshoot the inquiries.
  • Attend participant meetings to advocate for and offer ideas to ensure the success of the participant.
  • Provide on the job training for new participants as needed.
  • Attend assigned weekly rehabilitation meetings.
  • Work with Ability One individuals to help facilitate their career goals.
  • Provide administrative support as requested.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience and Certification(s) .

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required; Associates degree preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and/or access to reliable transportation to perform work-related travel. Eligible drivers must have a good motor vehicle record (MVR).
  • Previous experience supporting adults with disabilities required.
  • Previous Rehab billing experience required.
  • Pass and maintain Hill Air Force Base background security clearance required.
  • Pass and maintain Department of Human Services background clearance required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to interact positively with individuals with disabilities.
  • Posses excellent oral/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to advocate on behalf of persons served to various internal and external individuals.
  • Must be detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Must have knowledge of employment transition, supported employment, and job training issues for persons with disabilities.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneDrive.
  • Ability to become familiar with corporate-specific programs and software.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee may occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet . The employee will be visiting a variety of sites in the community, which can vary with regards to noise level and weather/temperature conditions.
