We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. Alcon is seeking a Creative Services Video Editor to join the Creative Services team in Ft. Worth, TX. A lead video editor is responsible for assembling recorded film and video footage, applying artistic editing techniques, and creating finished, broadcast-worthy projects that accurately reflect the vision of the producer and director. Must possess expert knowledge of modern video editing techniques, be able to visualize directorial concepts and work according to a strict time schedule. A top-notch video editor can perfectly translate a director's idea into a beautifully crafted film or video piece, worthy of broadcasting.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Meeting with the producer to determine production vision.
  • Reviewing raw material to determine the shot list.
  • Manipulating film and video footage using modern editing techniques.
  • Maintaining continuity while moving shots according to scene value.
  • Trimming footage and putting together the rough project.
  • Inserting dialog, sound effects, music, graphics, and special effects.
  • Ensuring the project follows a logical sequence.
  • Consulting with the director and producer and/or creative team throughout the project.
  • Creating the final cut for broadcasting.

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree orEquivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • 4 years of Relevant Experience
  • Work hours: Salaried-Exempt
  • Travel Requirements: 5-10%
