Warehouse Lead Person- Weekend Nights

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Lead Warehouse Person to join our team of manufacturing professionals located in Hanover, PA on the Weekend Night shift.

This role is responsible to provide timely support to the Week Night Logistics Supervisor to ensure optimal flow of warehouse operations throughout the night shift and serve as the substitute night shift supervisor during the supervisor's absence.

Key Responsibilities



  • Retrieves, organizes and distributes outbound shipment mail bags daily for all delivering distribution centers.
  • Checks and assures trailer number assignments and door assignments for proper deliveries.
  • Assists the loaders, pickers and conveyor operators in their daily functions to assure the optimum shift efficiencies.
  • Investigates, documents and reports all necessary shift incident reports to the shift supervisor.
  • Confirms finished orders on the computer and assures accuracy of shipments
  • Monitors and helps to maintain the daily shortages on trailers.
  • Monitors and signs-off on finished orders to assure 100% cube utilization of all outbound trailers completed on the shift.
  • Unloads/loads conveyor, puts product into appropriate storage rows and scans into inventory.
  • Trains and instructs associates on operation, procedures and other warehouse responsibilities.
  • Initiates process improvement and provides advice and recommendations to supervisor upon request.
  • Must be flexible to cover other shifts in an event of vacation or call out of supervision.
  • Spends majority of time on the floor working with and supervising assigned staff.
  • Loads trailers with finished product for distributors and distribution centers; accuracy is critical.
  • Reads load sheets to determine quantity of each skid that needs loaded and to where.
  • Performs physical inventories as requested.
  • Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
  • Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.


Requirements



  • Knowledge of loading and shipping operations required to properly plan and execute a daily shipping schedule.
  • Exhibits leadership skills necessary to lead others, coordinate flow and meet deadlines.
  • Requires reading and math skills and computer literacy including MS Excel and D365 proficiency.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and retain a forklift license for both sit down and standup forklifts.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to manage multiple tasks; work within time constraints; and shifting priorities is required.
  • Ability to communicate well, both though written and verbal communication skills.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and push/ pull up to 35lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
