The Oskaloosa plants include iron and brass foundries, a machine shop, assembly, finished goods warehousing, shipping and administrative offices. Job DescriptionPurpose: The Staff Accountant ensures the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. A strong understanding of accounting principles to maintain compliance with both industry regulations and organizational policies. This role will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including ensuring accurate account and bank reconciliations, payroll support, journal entries, financial reporting, etc. Key Performance Indicators: Sustainability: a. Monthly reporting 100% complete by the applicable date. b. Account reconciliations are completed monthly. Customer Experience: a. Develop one new process improvement or policy per year. Leadership: a. Complete two professional development activities per year. Core Functions: Financial Analysis (50%): Actively seek partnerships within Clow Valve to generate the information needed to create accurate, precise reporting by creating open communication between all departments. Responsible for a variety of accounting, general ledger, reporting, and analysis. Assist in payroll duty functions on a weekly and monthly basis. Compiling various financial and production reports ensuring completion by guidelines established by Corporate and Management. Legal & Compliance (30%): Ensure success of the department by maintaining compliance with all procedure requirements, including industry, federal and state requirements. Diligently follow a standard of practice for all policies and procedures to ensure constant compliance by documenting all processes. Teamwork (20%): Facilitate open communication that allows for questions, development, and guidance. Provide thorough guidelines to all policies and procedures that foster success in the department and build trust company-wide. QualificationsTechnical Skills Strong working knowledge or GAAP, Microsoft Excel, ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX/365 preferred), written, verbal and presentation skills and demonstrated decision making & problem-solving skills. Education & Experience Required: -Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Preferred: -Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 5 years previous experience in a professional accounting/finance role (CPA and/or Payroll experience considered).
