Job Description:

The IT Software Engineering Group is seeking a highly motivated software engineer to support the evaluation, development and deployment of new IT technologies at Electric Boat (EB). The group's objective is to develop and deploy computer-aided automation tools to maximize the net savings to the company. The group is predominantly working on the development of custom automation solutions to support EB's newest CAD and PLM tool, such as developing design, plan, and manufacturing interfaces and rules-based automations.

Responsibilities include:

    Requirement analysis and design for software application
  • Development of software applications (typically using Java and javascript)
  • Testing and maintenance of various software applications
  • Investigation of advanced IT and software development technologies


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent technical degree
  • Java and/or web-based application development using javascript
  • 1-3 years of programming experience (internship or college projects included, preferred Java)

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodology

  • Technologies: Jira, Git, Gradle, IDEs, and web-based frameworks
  • Ability to work on a team or independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be highly self-motivated
