    Summary/Primary Objective of Position:
    Serve as a key member of the Communications Team, assisting with timely, high-level communications projects. Serve as the first point of contact for Minnetonka Public Schools at the District Service Center, welcoming and assisting various District stakeholders and helping to resolve concerns.

    Job Responsibilities:
    1. Write, proofread and coordinate elements of key Communications projects such as monthly School Board Recognitions, the Celebration of Excellence and high-level publications including the Annual Report, Kindergarten Enrollment materials and MHS registration materials
    2. Provide outstanding customer service on the phone and in-person at reception desk of District Service Center, greeting and directing visitors and helping to resolve concerns and provide solutions
    3. Direct and coordinate the District's annual Master Calendar project and maintain the District's website calendar
    4. Act as main point of contact for District emergencies
    5. Serve as back-up approver and support for online communication tools Peachjar and Let's Talk
    6. Process first class and bulk rate mail and manage distribution projects at the reception desk
    7. Perform other duties of a similar nature and level

    Job Qualifications:
    1. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Google Office suite
    2. Ability to quickly learn District systems (Skyward, Finalsite content management system, School Messenger notification system)
    3. Evidence of typing skill (50 wpm)
    4. High School Diploma or equivalent
    5. Strong writer and copy editor
    6. Strong ability to multitask while remaining calm and effective and prioritize tasks at hand
    7. Strong ability to work independently with little supervision
    8. Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc.
    9. Evidence of ability to maintain confidentiality
    10. Evidence of attention to detail and to meet deadlines
    11. Evidence of pleasant phone manner, even under duress
    12. Flexible, accurate and detail-oriented
    13. Evidence of representing Minnetonka Schools in a professional, helpful manner
    14. Capable of reacting quickly to different situations, remaining calm and efficient

    Preferred Training and Experience:
    1. Four-year degree from accredited college or university
    2. 3-4 years of experience in communications-related position
    3. Previous experience with providing exceptional customer service
    4. Some desktop publishing experience
