Job Description

The Safety and Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety and compliance programs to ensure the organization adheres to all regulatory requirements and industry standards. This role involves promoting a culture of safety, conducting risk assessments, managing audits, and ensuring that all safety protocols are consistently followed.

This position can be located in Spokane, Kent, Vancouver or Boise

Salary ranges from $115,980 - $130,135 DOE

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Safety Program Management:

    • Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
    • Monitor workplace activities to ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable safety regulations.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.




  • Compliance Oversight:

    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as industry standards.
    • Maintain all necessary permits, licenses, and records.
    • Lead and prepare the organization for internal and external safety audits.
    • Ensure that all quality, safety, environmental audits, i.e., NAOU, GAO, FDA, USDA, OSHA, etc. are passed without any critical/major nonconformances.




  • Training and Awareness:

    • Develop and deliver safety training programs and toolbox talks for employees at all levels.
    • Promote a culture of safety through awareness campaigns and employee engagement initiatives.




  • Collaboration and Reporting:

    • Collaborate with department heads, HR, and legal teams to address safety and compliance issues.





Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in safety and compliance management or a related role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Safety software tools and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).

Work Environment



  • This position will be performed at one of the following locations: Kent, Spokane, Vancouver, Boise.
  • This role requires occasional travel to various worksites and may involve exposure to hazardous conditions.
