Industrial Engineer Internship

Status: Non-Exempt (hourly)

Department: 354 Manufacturing Engineering (Operations)

Term: Summer and/or Fall

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Engineering Intern to join our team. In this role, you will support the Industrial Engineering department by creating project plans, maintaining Microsoft SharePoint tools, and helping to optimize processes through data analysis and visualization. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining Power BI reports to aid in project administration and performance tracking. This is a great opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field, looking to gain hands-on experience in project management, process improvement, and business intelligence.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Support
    • Assist in the creation of detailed project plans, timelines, and schedules for ongoing industrial engineering projects.
    • Collaborate with team members to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
    • Track project progress and update project plans as necessary.
  • SharePoint Maintenance
    • Maintain and update Microsoft SharePoint tools used for project documentation, tracking, and reporting.
    • Organize SharePoint sites, ensuring that project information is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible.
    • Support the team in developing and automating SharePoint workflows for project administration.

Education and Qualification

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint or other collaborative tools is preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI for data analysis, dashboard creation, and reporting is preferred.
  • Must have reliable transportation to the office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess solid hands-on approach to problem-solving
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent follow-through
  • Must be driven and self-motivated

Estimated Base Salary Range:

$21.00 - $25.00
