Full job description:

We are currently accepting applications for Concrete Laborers wanting to advance their construction careers. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of commercial construction as well as a comprehensive understanding of procedures, techniques, tools, equipment, materials, specifications, quality and cost control measures and safety requirements associated with commercial building.



Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

    Ensure regulatory needs and safety measures are maintained
  • Able to survey grid line and elevations
  • Ability to form and finish concrete to grade
  • Managing the expectations of the Customer at all times
  • Capable of setting forms that hold concrete to desired pitch and depth, and align them.
  • Inspect concrete forms to see they are properly constructed.
  • Spread and level concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float.
  • Mold expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.
  • Chip, scrape, and grind high spots, ridges and rough projections to finish concrete, using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, or hand tools
  • Preparation, facilitation of concrete placement, and finishing.
  • Needs pouring and finishing knowledge with proficiency in trowel, broom, and hand finish
  • Needs to have understanding of daily concrete operations with ability to work independently
  • Ability to determine types of tools and equipment needed on jobs
  • Ability to use logic and create alternative solutions and approaches to problem solving

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Concrete Finisher a MUST, at least ONE year experience minimum.
  • Knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing techniques.
  • Familiarity with concrete tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project plans.
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform labor-intensive tasks.
  • Attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Proper work attire required; work boots, long pants.
  • Carpentry knowledge and CDL license always a plus.
