FACILITIES MANAGER

Qualifications

Position Summary

Under the direction of Director, Plant Operations, the Facilities Manager is responsible for the management and organization of the facilities environment of care while maintaining compliance with all applicable codes, standards of government and regulatory agencies. Able to serve as a backup for the Plant Ops Director who is responsible for the management and organization of operations of the facility including Maintenance, Culinary, and Environmental Services.

  • Provides a physical environment free of hazards while establishing and evaluating the impact on patient and public safety, the buildings, grounds, equipment, occupants, and internal physical systems.
  • Communicates with all required external agencies; e.g., Fire Marshall, State Health Inspector, AHCA, etc. when assigned by the Director of Plant Operations.
  • Assists the Director of Plant Operations in maintaining compliance with facility mandates, government and accrediting agencies including work standards, competency assessments, and project management.
  • Performs urgent corrective, routine, preventive and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical, HVAC and plumbing systems as required. Replaces, installs, repairs and tests electrical circuits, equipment, appliances and lighting systems as required.
  • Inspects and tests equipment/systems. Maintains routine records of all inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system.
  • Maintains vendor relationships and completes all Purchase Orders for Environmental Services and Maintenance, as required.
  • Perform manual duties as requested (i.e., moving supplies or furniture, replacing light bulbs, Driving Patients, removing trash or scrap material).
  • Assists outside contractors and vendors during maintenance or installation procedures; serves as resource on physical plant and procedures.
  • In the absence of the Director of Plant Operations assumes the responsibility for the role and attends meetings as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • 2 years of supervisory or related experience required.
  • Basic Computer Skills are required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Sits, stands, bends, kneels, lifts and moves intermittently during work hours.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to be physically mobile, climb stairs, traverse the campus on uneven, hilly terrain.
  • Ability to work outdoors in possible extreme weather conditions.
  • A current, valid driver's license and a clean driving record is required for use of company vehicles; posess or work toward obtaing a CDL.
  • Due to the 24/7 operational demands, must be available after normal working hours and on holidays to manage circumstances that may arise.
