About the opportunity
SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a Summer Intern to support our Cultural Resources Program based in Honolulu, Hawai'i. This internship will occur during the summer (early June to mid-August 2025). Candidates who can start earlier than June 2025 will be considered and those who can remain past August may provide additional value. In addition to project work, the internship program includes regularly scheduled presentations by SWCA leaders. People with educational and or professional experience in Hawaii are highly preferred. This is a paid, full-time (40 hours/week) internship, with a rate of pay of $20.25/hr. What you will accomplish This summer's Hawai'i Cultural Resources Program intern will participate in the full range of archaeological and anthropological investigations that SWCA undertakes here in Hawai'i, learning about and gaining experience in all aspects of cultural resource management. The intern will assist our Project Archaeologists in conducting archaeological and historical background research, undertaking archaeological fieldwork, and helping to writing up archaeological reports. The intern will also assist our Project Anthropologist with ethnohistoric research, conducting community consultation and oral history interviews, and preparing Cultural Impact Assessments, Ka Pa'akai Analyses, and other cultural studies.
