How You Will Make An Impact

Aptima is seeking a Software Engineer Intern for the summer of 2025 in our Ohio office to contribute to the development and testing of software for wearable sensors and IoT-based health and environmental monitoring systems. You will sit within Aptima's Performance Augmentation Division and have the opportunity to collaborate with teams across the company to provide the best service to our broad customer base.

You Can Expect To

  • Develop, test, and debug software for wearable sensors and IoT-based systems in health and environmental monitoring applications
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate software components into larger system architectures
  • Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code using Python, Java, C++, or other programming languages
  • Research and implement new software frameworks and tools to meet specific project needs
  • Conduct software testing and debugging to ensure system functionality and reliability
  • Support cloud deployment and automated testing workflows for enhanced project performance
Requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong interest in IoT, health technology, or environmental monitoring systems
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new programming frameworks and tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud deployment and distributed systems
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools and techniques
  • Exposure to machine learning or data processing workflows
