Your Role and Team - Inpatient Rehab Therapy:

Come join our dynamic and collaborative Inpatient Rehab Therapy team working to empower patients. We value collaboration and teamwork to help our patients meet their goals.

At Salem Health you get to work at the top of your license, treating patients with a variety of diagnoses within our inpatient rehab unit. Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) plays an integral role in the planning and implementation of occupational therapy services and discharge planning. As part of our team you are afforded the opportunity to broaden your professional knowledge by working closely with other therapy providers, care managers, allied health specialists, physicians, and advanced practice providers

We think work should be both challenging and rewarding and encourage staff to expand their knowledge with annual continuing education funds/paid days off, and ongoing.

Your Background and Expertise:

  • Certificate of Completion -- Graduate of an occupational therapist assistant training program approved by the Committee on Accreditation in Education of the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant License - with the State of Oregon. License must be verified prior to start date.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience, OR clinical rotation in department specific area required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required after 90 Days.
  • Be a team player and have proven success applying team approach to obtain resolution to an issue.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, problem solving, decision making, and organizational skills for working with the rehabilitation team and patients.
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt to change while working in high volume multidisciplinary setting.
  • Lead small groups, ability to divide attention.
  • Demonstrates competency by implementing age culturally sensitive, and developmentally appropriate treatment plans and by appropriate documentation.
