THE JOB:

The MGM Grand Casino Cashier role involves enhancing the service experience through accurate processing of customer and inter-departmental monetary transactions, delivering excellent guest service, and promoting the MGM Rewards program. All duties are to be performed inaccordance with federal, state and local laws, regulations, and ordinances, as well as department and Company policies, practices, andprocedures. By delivering exceptional customer service you will play a vital role in our mission to own the guest's experience and create WOW memories that they will carry with them far beyond their stay with us.

THE STARTING PAY RATE: $18.00 / Per Hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Perform entry-level transactions at the frontline, including chip bank, poker, cage credit, and employee bank/window transactions
  • Cash various types of checks for patrons according to specified guidelines; redeem chips/tokens, TITO (ticket in/ticket out), and Race and Sports tickets
  • Execute tasks at a marker/IOU bank and High Limit cage, and may also service patron Kiosk/TRU units and employee Recycler/JetSafe units
  • Handle both Marker and Front Money transactions on patron accounts
  • Exchange acceptable types of foreign currencies
  • Accurately complete electronic multiple transaction logs, and manually complete transaction logs as needed
  • Safeguard and document all recordable transactions involving company assets
  • Provide patrons with general information upon request
  • Issue or retrieve safety deposit boxes
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and all holidays
  • One (1) year of prior high-volume cash handling experience
  • Has a firm understanding of Title 31 reporting
  • Previous guest services experience in a similar resort setting
  • Has a firm understanding of Casino Operations
  • Has the ability to balance a bank without assistance (identifying errors when out of balance)
  • Proficiency in fundamental mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and money handling
  • Proficiency of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as standard officeequipment
  • Knowledge of 10-key adding machine, currency counter and cash advance machine
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
  • Is detail-oriented and has the ability to multi-task in a fast paced, team environment
  • Capable of standing and walking for a majority of the shift
