About the role

The RD Actuarial Financial Reporting team is looking for an actuary I to join the team! We are seeking an Actuary I to conduct our annuity financial reporting work.You'll initiate, organize, direct, and analyze actuarial research and projects. This includes developing actuarial assumptions, and developing and maintaining profits studies, pricing strategies and policies, pricing models, reserve and financial reporting models and policy, and/or other financial models. May supervise analysts and actuarial students.

What you will do



  • Typically leads facets of product development, financial reporting, management reporting, experience studies, risk management reporting, and actuarial research.
  • Reviews actuarial reports with significant independence.
  • Improves processes and creates efficiencies with reporting, documentation, and transparency.
  • May supervise analysts and actuarial students.
  • Commitment to self development, attaining industry knowledge, and typically passing actuarial exams to achieve FSA.
  • Approximately 40% of time spent on recurring duties, 40% on project related work, and 20% management related duties including reviewing work and developing employees.

Compensation

Salary Range:$103,300 - $172,200plus eligibility for annual bonus programs

Who you are



  • Bachelors degree or equivalent with strong quantitative background including college level mathematics.
  • 4+ years of insurance related actuarial experience. Typically 4 to 8 years of experience.
  • 7 to 8 actuarial exams. ASA designation required, might have FSA.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Significant communication with senior leadership.
  • Highly skilled in PC utilization including spreadsheets, data management software, and actuarial modeling software.
  • Advanced knowledge of actuarial concepts and assumptions used for modeling, pricing, and financial reporting.
  • Proven ability to work independently.
  • Ability to solve complex actuarial problems independently.
  • Significant knowledge of insurance/products and the industry.
  • Commitment to professional development.
  • Experience with Python, Snowflake and or other actuarial modeling software.
  • High school diploma required.
