What you will do

The QA Architect will contribute to all areas of the software development lifecycle including researching QA solutions for both hardware and software platforms, scheduling and estimations, and providing high level technical mentoring to all areas of the QA team. Get ready to lead the team with new ideas for increasing efficiency, reducing timelines, and pushing the team forward with new technology. You will build promoters within the organization and leverage experience when presenting ideas! This is an onsite position based in Westford, MA. Candidates must be commuting distance, or open to relocation.

How you will do it

You will be part of a successful QA Test Team responsible for various software, hardware, and firmware projects. We are operating under Agile principles, and the architect would often be part of multiple scrum teams providing consulting services and ensuring best practices.

  • Design and build physical environments to verify new technologies and products

  • Identifying root cause of defects

  • Collaborating with development engineers, architects, and level 3 support engineers

  • Reviewing test plans and test strategies for cloud, server, and web interfaces

  • Reviewing automation coverage

  • Assisting in automation in python, JavaScript, or UFT frameworks

  • Contribute as an embedded member of the sprint team with assigned stories

What we look for
Required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent, master's is a plus

  • Minimum of 10+ years of related hardware and software test experience

  • Understanding of cloud architecture, microservices, and deployments

  • Experience with docker and virtual machines

  • Full understanding of APIs, virtualized services, and API testing strategies

  • Experience automating frontend web workflows with Selenium (JavaScript, Python)

  • Strong knowledge of SQL with the ability to write moderate SQL queries

  • Analytical proficiency to understand performance and behavior of a system under test

  • Deep understanding of performance testing strategies

  • Sets the technical direction of the team and/or project

  • Experience in selecting, designing, and implementing QA tools and frameworks

  • Ability to research and present solutions to peers and senior management

  • Successful track record as a 'hands on' leader within the QA organization

  • Self-motivated and creative problem solver

  • Quick learner and willingness to work on problems outside of your comfort zone

Preferred

  • Experience with Access Control systems

  • Basic electronics knowledge, ability to understand and build simple electricalcircuits

  • Wireshark knowledge for performance monitoring

  • Project management, forecasting and estimation skills

  • Experience with mobile testing, Android Studio or Xcode mobile tools
