Position Description:
Oversees and directs the development, implementation, and management of Asset Protection programs, Policy and Procedure, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) certification, Business Contingency Plan, and general compliance programs for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directs activities meant to reduce organizational risk and legal liability.
  • Develops and manages quality control programs that include analytics, data mining and trend analysis.
  • Oversees and instructs team members on conducting audits on cash, check, and credit handling process; conducts audits as needed.
  • Manages budget adherence in order to maintain cost controls associated with General areas of CARF, Policy Programs and Asset Protection.
  • Develops and maintains analytical data with a focus on trend analysis and presents to leadership.
  • Interprets the effectiveness of procedures and ensures that they are in line with GCNA's short and long-term goals. Implements changes when necessary to drive GCNA towards those goals.
  • Proactively collaborates with Store Leadership, Loss Prevention Representatives, the Safety Department, and various Police and public safety agencies on both a continual and as needed basis, to enforce the Loss Prevention Policy/Program and to maintain a positive and productive relationship.
  • Builds cross-functional program models and training with Safety & Risk Management team to streamline audit processes and improve KPIs of the department.
  • Partners with company operational areas in the design, drafting, revising, implementation, and control of loss prevention policies and procedures, and takes initiative in working with leaders in those areas to identify opportunities to lessen loss, fraud, and criminal activity; Protects company assets, while at the same time enhancing customer safety and satisfaction.
  • Provides program materials that address unique business line needs for all GCNA divisions.
  • Develops and maintain CARF certification program that addresses not only current needs but also future forecasted needs.
  • Fosters cross department and division relationships that help maintain an efficient policy and procedure program.
  • Identifies and evaluates potential risks associated with assigned business units, products, or product lines, or programs. Seeks to mitigate liability associated with those risks by proposing and implementing risk reduction strategies, or by insuring the organization against loss.
  • Designs and implements creative, yet practical, strategies which positively impact theft, injury, and other losses. Develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates department processes.
  • Responsible for Loss Prevention Technologies such as intrusion/fire alarms, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems, locks, secure display cases, safes and new store construction.
  • Oversees the installation, use, and monitoring of the Global Positioning System (GPS), the Lock System, the Key and Entry Code system and all camera-based and alarm security systems.
  • Oversees the preparation of reports to management teams detailing risks facing the organization, quantifying historical and projected future losses, and describing risk reduction strategies.
  • Oversees the development of policies and procedures that provide an effective and accurate policy housing, maintenance and review process.
  • Develops, implements, monitors, and coordinates Loss Prevention policy/training programs and initiatives for all levels of personnel to combat loss prevention issues and reduce loss, theft, and injury.
  • Works with leadership, front-line Managers, Team Members and other business leaders to achieve company goals and proper KPI targets.
  • Responsible for performance management (coaching, discipline, performance improvement plans, and annual reviews), staffing, compensation, and development of Team Members.
  • Works on additional projects and programs as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and consistent in-person attendance.
  • Plays critical role in driving company culture change efforts and change management processes.

  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years' experience in loss prevention or equivalent as well as demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of Retail/Industrial Security Systems, communication systems and loss prevention programs.
  • 5+ years' experience in a managerial position with the demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train, and motivate others.
  • Strong program management skills and the ability to work in an open and consultative manner.
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
  • Must demonstrate strong verbal, written, and analytical skills as well as have the ability to interact effectively with Corporate Executives, Team Leaders and Team Members in order to drive change through all levels of the organization.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Results oriented, history of proven success.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Valid drivers' license and clean MVR.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position.
