Honeybee Robotics is on the lookout for a hardworking Embedded Software Engineer IV to join our team with varied strengths. In this phenomenal opportunity, you will develop and maintain brand new robotic control and measurement software for both PCs and embedded systems. Lead and participate in testing and validation to ensure excellent systems, lead software deployments, and provide direct customer support on-site and remotely.

As part of our team, you will take ownership of software system requirements and schedules, driving our projects forward. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead efforts in testing and validation of robotics software and control systems.
  • Manage software field deployments and provide support on-site and remotely to customers.
  • Derive and own software system requirements and schedules.
  • Evaluate and identify improvements to system design with a specific focus on robust autonomy.
  • Collaborate with scientists, engineering managers, product management, and program management to drive new product development programs from concept to production.
  • Provide hands-on support to multi-functional product development teams servicing markets, including space, defense, medical, manufacturing, and other industries.
  • Write requirements and specification documents.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • More than 5 years of hands-on experience in software development for PC or embedded platforms.
  • Proficient in developing applications using C/C++.
  • Proficient in applying testing frameworks and conducting unit tests.
  • Adept with Git version control system.
  • Familiar with reading circuit schematics and performing basic debugging tasks.
  • Proven experience crafting reliable software architectures for critical systems.
  • Proficiency in building maintainable and versatile multithreaded and multi-process applications.
  • Understanding of digital communication protocols (Ethernet, USB, asynchronous serial, CAN, SPI, I2C).
  • Background in space flight avionics or ground systems software, particularly related to planetary exploration.
  • Familiarity with automated testing methodologies and continuous integration practices.
  • Experience with navigation visualization tools.
  • Experienced in working with diverse sensors and camera systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in using ROS for robotic movement and path planning.
  • Knowledgeable with the ROS2 Control framework.
  • Skilled in Python scripting.
  • Proficient in crafting graphical user interfaces, preferably with Qt.
  • Capable of writing software for controlling BLDC motors.
  • Background in developing software for vehicles.

Compensation Range for:

CA applicants is $177,567.00-$248,593.80
