Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician to join Level 1 Trauma Center. This role will be full time day shift, Monday - Friday with rotating weekends (7am - 7.30pm)

Job Responsibilities


  • Documents all required fields in medical records, computer entries and charges.
  • Applies orthopedic splinting devices.
  • Collects patient specimens following department/facility policies and procedures.
  • Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies to optimize delivery of patient care and treatment.
  • Assists with patient transport for testing, admission/discharge, interfacility and aeromedical (per policy of Operating Unit).
  • Performs 12 lead ECG and places patients on continuous cardiac monitoring.
  • Performs patient phlebotomy following department/facility policies and procedures.
  • Provides wound care according to department clinical practice standards and acts as a resource to physicians and nurses to assist with optimum care.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements



  • Experience: 1 year of EMT-B experience
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Certification: BLS and EMT-B; must either be active on the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) or possess a current Virginia EMT License/Certification
  • Training: Candidate must be able to attend six week training orientation upon hire.
  • Special Skills: Able to read, write, speak and understand English. Computer skills.
