Summary:

Energy Transfer LP (NYSE: ET) owns and operates one of the largest and most diversified portfolios of energy assets in the United States, with a strategic footprint in all of the major domestic production basins. ET is a publicly traded limited partnership with core operations that include complementary natural gas midstream, intrastate and interstate transportation and storage assets; crude oil, natural gas liquids (NGL) and refined product transportation and terminalling assets; NGL fractionation; and various acquisition and marketing assets. ET also owns Lake Charles LNG Company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Knowledgeable in the application of Industry Standards (API, ASME, PIP, ASTM, etc.) related to design and construction of Hazardous Liquids and Natural Gas pipeline systems, terminals and processing facilities.
  • Familiarity with applicable federal regulations:


    • 49 CFR 192, Transportation of Natural Gas by Pipeline
    • 49 CFR 195, Transportation of Hazardous Liquids by Pipeline
    • 29 CFR 1910, OSHA, and Process Safety Management (PSM)


  • Ability to apply safety procedures and policies.
  • Provide engineering / technical support in the development and maintenance of Company Engineering Standards and Procedures related to design and construction of pipeline systems, terminals, and processing facilities.
  • Mentor Project Managers, engineers, and operations groups regarding the locations of the various Standards libraries and their contents.
  • Provide guidance regarding the interpretation and application of Company engineering standards and procedures.
  • Manage the Change Management Process related to standards for assigned tasks, including leading change development, facilitating impact reviews, coordinating standard reviews, change approvals, and supporting implementation plan executions.
  • Works with others to communicate the issuance of new or revised standards and to develop and provide training as required to Company personnel.
  • Works with department managers to ensure standards and procedures meet Company needs, industry standards and good engineering practice.


  • Assists in organizing and maintaining the Engineering SharePoint web site.


Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:



    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, etc.) with 6-10+ years pipeline or processing experience.
    • Must have comprehensive experience with at least one of the following areas and a passing knowledge of at least one of the others:


      • Project Design / Engineering
      • Project Management
      • Field Construction



    • Strong organizational and leadership ability including project / program management skills.
    • Must possess strong computer skills utilizing MS Office / SharePoint.
    • Successful applicants are expected to be highly motivated individuals, a good team player, and customer oriented, with an eagerness to learn outside of own discipline.
    • The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, engineering, operation, and maintenance personnel is required.
    • Develop and maintain expertise in the application of engineering principles; remain current on changes in industry best practices.



    Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:



    • The Engineer level requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 3-6 years of relevant job related experience
    • The Senior Engineer level requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 6-10 years of relevant job related experience
    • The Staff Engineer level requires Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 10+ years of relevant job related experience
    • The Principal Engineer level requires Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 12+ years of relevant job related experience with a strong preference for a PE license


    Working Conditions:

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.



    • Normal office working conditions and field work
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
    • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
    • Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment will occur.
