JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Penn State World Campus Bursar Office is seeking a motivated individual to fill the position of Accountant - Supervisor/Senior Supervisor to work in a fast-paced student-centric office. This position will provide exceptional customer service to support our variety of units, including military students utilizing military educational benefits, and will work closely with the World Campus Military Educational Benefits Team. The successful candidate for this position must have financial, accounting, and bookkeeping experience, a strong background in Accounts Receivable, and proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications, including Excel. Candidates should also possess the following characteristics:
This position will be filled at an Accountant - Supervisor or Senior Supervisor level, and minimally requires a Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process. Penn State is embarking on a project to restructure the University's financial functions to move towards a centralized, service hub-based structure.This position is intended to initially support the unit and functions listed in this posting; however it may evolve over time relative to the overall restructuring.Questions about this project should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process. Due to the financial and fiduciary responsibilities of this position, successful completion of a credit history check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
