Responsibilities

Please note this is a home based position that be located anywhere on the East or Mid-Central regions of the United States.

The objective of this role is to generate business growth in alignment with Bruker BioSpin mission statement and strategic goals. Following a systematic approach and in collaboration with the commercial organization, market management, and other stakeholders, the Strategic Market Development Specialist will increase the relevance of magnetic resonance in the Cleantech, industrial, and Applied Markets (CIAM) segment while establishing Bruker BioSpin as the trusted partner for business expansion. The candidate will focus on scaling new product launches and accelerating volume ramp-up via early stage strategic network expansions, early adopter, and endorsement initiatives.

The Strategic Market Development Specialist represents the voice of the customer back into the organization. She/he gathers and evaluates market insights and customer feedback that will be used to further develop the strategy. She/he will be provided with autonomy, resources, and support to develop and deploy new solutions to meet the identified needs/gaps in the customer's workflows.

Key Job Responsibilities:

    Developing the Cleantech, Industrial, and Applied Markets (CIAM) in alignment with the Bruker BioSpin's strategy and following a systematic approach focused on areas of new entry: new market segment, stage in the value chain and/or business category.
  • Identifying growth drivers and business opportunities in adjacent market segments, with emphasis in specifiers, and those opportunities that lead to multiplication.
  • Drive acceptance of new Bruker BioSpin solutions from the development/QA and/or manufacturing departments of the specifier customer. (Lead the design-in process for Bruker BioSpin in Cleantech, Industrial, and Applied Markets (CIAM) for new solutions or in new applications).
  • Establishing strategic cooperations with key opinion leaders for continuous new solution development. Will gather pain points, needs, and trends and feed them back to the organization to develop and deploy new solutions that will integrate in the CIAM workflows.
  • Identifying early adopters and endorsers of new solutions to be part of the go to market process with joint marketing activities such as press releases, testimonials and thought leadership campaigns. Will design outbound marketing and sales campaigns and work in close collaboration with the commercial organization and market management to continuously reduce Time-to-Money of these newly launched solutions.
  • Expanding marketing databases for new entry, in close partnership with outbound marketing.
  • Responsible for Market Pull for Bruker BioSpin solutions in CIAM including generating leads and develop 'how to win' training for areas of new entry.
  • Close cooperation with global Application Scientist team, the Application Solution Development team, Commercial Organization, Market Management, and Group Marketing.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's or PHD Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering disciplines
  • Minimum of 3-5 years recent and professional global strategic market development work experience in the Cleantech, Industrial, and Applied Markets industry
  • Recent and relevant technical NMR work expertise in the fields of applications / methodology of the assigned portfolio. IR/Raman and Mass Spectrometry also desirable.
  • Entrepreneurial and/or commercial work experience (solutions selling, account management, business growth, lead generation and development)
  • A strong entrepreneurial spirit and energy with demonstrated business acumen, big picture and forward thinking mindset
  • English fluency with excellent and advanced oral/ written communication, analytical, quantitative, presentation, interpersonal skills and abilities
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Office, SalesForce.com, enabling applications and technologies
  • Proven ability to build, leverage, optimize, and influence constructive and collaborative business relationships with all parties
  • Strong and consistent communication, development, negotiation, closing, presentation, and follow through abilities, including urgency and a timely, supportive customer response
  • Proven ability to perform in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex global environment with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • A driven, highly motivated professional with a dedicated work approach and demonstrated excitement for new challenges and opportunity
  • A very high standard of ethics, communication, integrity, professionalism and personal presentation
  • Ability and willingness to maintain home office with reliable telephone lines and computer connectivity to support global communication
  • Ability to maintain valid passport with flexibility for domestic, overnight, and international travel
  • Reliable transportation with valid Driver License in good standing, issued by resident state or governing location
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required
  • May be required to pass security clearance investigation.

At Bruker, the base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $74,700 and $105,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on several job-related factors, including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge, and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits, including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
