Type: Full Time Location: Newport, RI Overtime Exempt: Yes Reports To: ARMADA HQ Security Clearance Required: Active Top Secret/SCI Eligibility Duties & Responsibilities:
- The SCIF Operations Specialist shall perform SCIF entry and exit inspections and generating an inspection status report.
- The SCIF Operations Specialist shall conduct training in various security aspects.
- SCIF Operations Specialist will be responsible for inputting, updating, and extracting data in security databases; providing a quarterly report and providing metrics on Security Division SCI services.
- Attend weekly Special Security Office (SSO) meetings to provide technical inputs on security issues and provide task status.
- The SCIF Operations Specialist will be responsible for marking, cataloging, and securing incoming new classified and controlled unclassified material in designated SCIFs.
- Maintain existing logs for all classified or controlled, unclassified material.
- Shall be responsible for destroying classified or controlled unclassified material and accounting for all destroyed documents in the filing system of record.
- The SCIF Operations Specialist shall Perform other SCI-related administrative tasks including filing, copying, faxing, scanning, answering phones, coordinating meetings, and scheduling conference rooms.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- The SCIF Operations Specialist must have the experience, education, or training that demonstrates the ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures.
- Must demonstrate the ability or have endorsements that indicate the ability to learn and perform the cited position's duties.
- The SCIF Operations Specialist must demonstrate knowledge of security classification methods, concepts, eligibility for access to classified or sensitive information and the process for granting personnel security clearances/accesses, and knowledge of commonly applied security principles, concepts, and methodologies in carrying out information, personnel, and physical security programs related to the protection of SCI. Specialist should have knowledge of the methods of performing such duties as conducting inspections and investigations, collecting and analyzing information, etc.,
- The SCIF Operations Specialist must demonstrate skill in weighing the impact of variables such as critical personnel qualifications, variations in building construction characteristics, access and entry restrictions, equipment availability, and other issues that influence the course of actions taken in resolving security questions and issues.
Minimum/General Experience:
- In addition, the SCIF Operations Specialist must demonstrate the following:
- Experience in the fields of physical, industrial, information and personnel security participating in SAP Security Compliance Inspections and Self-Inspections.
- Experience reporting, documenting and investigating security incidents; reviewing and applying governing policy including Executive Orders, DoD Security Directives, and the JAFAN Series.
- Must have excellent ability in communicating orally and in writing with staff and supervisors.
