We are looking for a Shift Production Lead to ensure the TC Transcontinental plant functions to its optimum level of safety, efficiency, and effectiveness to meet customer and company expectations with regard to the quality of the products produced.

This position is currently open and reflects a replacement position due to a promotion.


Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success:



  • Upholds all ethical standards associated with safety, quality, and food safety policies and procedures within the facility, including the TC Transcontinental Code of Conduct and Values.
  • Complies with all the standards that are followed in the plant, including, but not limited to - Safety, Quality, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF) and any other processes established within the TC Tulsa plant.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
  • Display leadership by actively providing support to the team for continuous workflow, identifying issues proactively.
  • Coach others on procedures, teamwork, and lead by example, exemplify positive behavior.
  • Provide input to department Manager relating to employee performance, operational success, and activities within the departments.
  • Conducts productive start-up meetings that effectively communicate the daily goals, and previous shift performance.
  • Coordinate, drive and assist in the prioritization of daily assignments to meet production goals.
  • Identify opportunities and implement productivity improvements.
  • Monitor safety practices and housekeeping.
  • Other duties as assigned, such as, training of new personnel, reporting, attending meetings, identify training needs.
  • Conduct Safety Toolbox meetings and pre-shift meetings as required.
  • Conduct audits as required.
  • Make decisions on escalation of issues based on safety, quality and production needs.
  • Provide daily shift reports to management.
  • Attend morning gemba/afternoon production meetings to communicate previous shift performance and/or align goals for upcoming shift.
  • Participate in improvement teams as needed.
  • Undertake projects as required.
  • Maintain regular contact with all department personnel throughout the shift and stay aware of all activities during the shift.
  • Understand daily production priorities and make decisions based on those priorities.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Possess communication skills.
  • Demonstrated MS Outlook, Word and Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of the company's quality and food safety systems, as well as contractual quality requirements.
  • Ability to perform complex mathematical equations and conversions.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Computer literate with a strong knowledge of software such as Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment and make decisions as required
  • Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to exemplify professional behavior in all aspects of the position.
  • Tactful, mature, and has the ability to get along with diverse personalities.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a phone, fax, copier, and printers.
  • Communicates effectively one-on-one and in small groups.
  • Easily articulates ideas and needs, so people at all levels can understand.
  • Highly organized and self-directed with an ability to prioritize projects, combined with the ability to provide and receive direction.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills with an aptitude to quickly absorb new procedures and new industry advancements.
  • Ability to accurately measure using steel rulers, a measuring tape or other required measurement tools.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and accurately report test results.
  • Ability to properly and safely handle and use equipment and chemicals.
  • Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, work rules and compliance standards.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and change hours.
