The Packaging Systems Service Line Lead role is primarily focused upon building HDR's staffing, skillset, portfolio, revenue and branding in the Packaging Systems market. Packaging Systems would include services such as materials handling, conveyance, packaging, assembly and industrial equipment identification/specification/placement. The following outlines the responsibilities for this role:
- Strategic Client Development Leadership & Assistance - Assist/collaborate with Industrial sector leadership and operations leadership in the definition and engagement strategy for clients with Packaging Systems needs across the Industrial Sector. Serve as a key client manager for selected clients. Be a key contributor to the Industrial Sector meeting or exceeding its financial targets (NFB, NFE, OP, Utilization)
- Identify, recruit and mentor/train staff to build our Packaging Systems capabilities. This would include Packaging Engineers, Electrical Power & Controls Engineers, Chemical/Process Engineers, Project Managers, Structural Engineers, Mechanical/Building Engineers and Drafting Staff. Develop and implement a strategy to build a robust, sustainable and global team inclusive of entry level through Senior Subject Matter Experts
- Alignment of Resources - Coordinate the alignment of internal resources to the Packaging Systems needs of our clients and the achievement of financial goals.
- Strategic Initiative Development - Engage Market Sector/Client Development and Operations in the development and execution of key market sector initiatives identified during strategic planning and annual alignment meetings. Drive key initiatives, as needed.
- Serve as a PIC, PM and/or SME for key clients/projects which include Packaging Systems scopes.
- Lead or support the proposal development, inclusive of preparation of scopes and fee estimates, for projects which include a Packaging Systems component
- Identify and develop relationships with strategic partners who can help HDR bolster our Packaging Systems portfolio and market position
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Packaging or related Industrial Engineering degree.
- Project Management Experience preferred.
- Experience in the Food & Beverage industry.
- Experience managing packaging systems in Manufacturing environment.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering, planning or a related field
- A minimum of 10 years of industry experience
- If an engineer, maintain engineering registration
- Experienced in development and management of strategic marketing programs for planning and/or engineering services
- Experienced in development and management of a wide range of client relationships and specific program and/or project pursuits
- Experienced in overall staff development to include recruiting, career path and professional growth
- Experienced with industry associations and maintains a visible profile in the market sector
- Ability to work cooperatively with Regional Market Sector Directors, Market Sector Directors, Business Class Directors, Regional Business Group Directors, Area Business Group Managers, Area Marketing Managers and Area Managers
- Demonstrated commitment to HDR values. An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
