For nearly 25 years, Catharsis Productions has led the way in creating safer, more respectful communities through conversations on relationships, gender norms, stereotypes, and community building. Through innovative programs, workshops, and consulting, we meet our audiences where they are, utilizing humor and candid conversation to open the dialogue on challenging oppressive attitudes, shifting behavior, and spurring action for cultural change. Our company of presenters, educators, and subject matter experts has led over 700 live and virtual presentations in 2024 alone, with audiences around the globe ranging from university students to military leadership. We are currently seeking Actors/Educators for multiple positions to present programming at Great Lakes Naval Station (in North Chicago) and college campuses. These programs utilize scripted material, audience discussion, and improvisation to educate about sexual violence prevention and bystander intervention. You do not need to be an actor but must be comfortable presenting in front of groups in an engaging manner. Catharsis covers all travel costs, including air travel, auto rental, lodging, and per diems when performing. Performers have flexible personal time outside of performance duties while traveling. ? COMPENSATION: POSITION 1: Weekly presentations at Great Lakes: Approximately $200.00/day, rehearsals paid at $20.00/hour; annual estimated compensation $10,000-$20,000, depending on availability and scheduling needs. POSITION 2: College Tour in fall: TBD depending on tour, but previous new hires have earned between $6,000-$8,000 over seven weeks, plus per diem and travel expenses when traveling; in addition, rehearsals are paid at $20.00/hour.
