Historically based in Rochester, NY, the Global Quality Technical group is a function of the process R&D organization. The group primarily supports the global commercialization and qualification of products, processes, sites, and methods from early stage R&D through plant manufacturing and customer utilization. As a whole, the Global Quality Technical group collaborates with R&D, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and Global QA for the Health & Biosciences Businesses to lead, guide, and transfer quality best practices. The group consists of 4 key areas of scientific expertise and provides comprehensive services in Microbiology and Molecular, Culture Collection, and Bioanalytical. In 2025, the Global Quality Technical groups and laboratories will be re-locating to Wilmington, DE to be integrally connected within the H&B organization.

Travel is required most frequently to the Rochester, NY facility for training and transition purposes within the first year of relocating the Global Quality Technical Group to Wilmington, DE. This role will be central to the relocation efforts.

Functional Overview:

The Bioanalytical Team is responsible for services and transfer activities, qualification, and scientific solutions utilizing analytical methods and tools to support suitable, reliable, compliant, and repeatable FPFQ. Areas include enzymology, HPLC, combustion analysis (organic and protein), ELISA, gel electrophoresis, spectroscopy, physical properties, and the development and application of new technology.

This team is responsible for the generation, maintenance, and distribution of enzyme standards and controls for global quantification and product release. This Team owns the global manufacturing SQC program.

This team supports global product stewardship with method development, knowledge share, and transfer of analytical methods for the safe use and handling of enzymes.

Role Specific Overview:

  • Advanced level position leading varied responsibilities within functional discipline. Distribution of responsibilities roughly 35% creation, 25% innovation and new technology, 25% customer intimacy and technical partnership, and 15% leadership.
  • Accountable for the development and implementation of new value-creating technologies, products, and/or applications to address Business/Work group opportunities.
  • Champions the identification and integration of various technologies from inside and outside the organization to pursue high value opportunities for our production asset or new products.
  • Identifies and solves diverse and poorly defined problems. Identifies alternative approaches to address new and existing challenges.
  • Has demonstrated several examples of applying the scientific method or design process and statistics to advance project goals. Seeks comprehensive input and utilizes meaningful literature searches and market knowledge to form hypothesis and selects and recommends approaches to projects.
  • Enhances projects by making presentations that integrate ideas, define issues, present alternatives and recommends solutions. Develops communication strategies and implements various communication techniques that inform and influence.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead projects of moderate size and scope, shows project management skills and team leadership.
  • Creates new opportunities and leads others to define a program and risks for implementation of an opportunity.

Job Specific Requirements:

  • Work independently, within functional group, and across disciplines bringing leadership and fundamental communication skills with the ability to train and mentor others.
  • Active participant of the lab who consistently contributes to the continuous improvement, strategy, and vision of lab operations, systems, and database management.
  • Detail-orientated with strong organizational, planning, and management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt.
  • Effective computer, data interpretation, and database management skills (LIMS, SAP, SharePoint, Office 365 (Excel expertise a plus), Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Access).
  • Advocates and champions a strong ethical, safety, and inclusive working culture.
  • Able to work on-site every day for the full day. This is not a remote position.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in relevant discipline
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including education
