Job Summary:
The TRP Field Experience Supervisor will support special education teacher candidates in the Milwaukee Public Schools and UW-Madison Special Education Teacher Residency Program (TRP) in their residency placements. The supervisor will provide coaching, ongoing support, and mentorship for teacher candidates and work collaboratively with the TRP Program Manager and mentor teachers to support teacher candidates for success. The supervisor will exercise problem-solving and independent judgment to provide comprehensive supports for teacher candidates in all aspects of their school-based residency experience. Responsibilities: Contributes to the development, implementation, administration, coordination, and evaluation for one or more academic programs to ensure effectiveness in meeting departmental and student development goals and initiatives. Education: Required Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years teaching in a classroom setting with of K-12 with special education students, preferred 10 or more years and experience with teacher leadership and/or coaching as well as master's degree in special education or related field. Current teaching license in K-12 special education required. Work Type: Part Time: 50% - 75% Appointment Type, Duration: Terminal, 5 month appointment. Salary: Minimum $45,000 ACADEMIC (9 months) Additional Information: This supervisor position supports graduate students that are part of the UW-Madison Special Education Teacher Residency program (UW-Madison TRP), which is a partnership between the University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Rehabilitation Psychology and Special Education and Milwaukee Public Schools. The UW-Madison TRP is supported by a Teacher Quality Partnership grant awarded by the Effective Educator Development Division of the U.S. Department of Education.
