JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer Manufacturing who will be responsible for supporting the operational deliverables of multiple organizations within the Doble Community (Manufacturing Operations, Quality, Purchasing, Engineering, and Customer Care). The Electrical Engineer Manufacturing is recognized as an expert in the principles and application of sustaining engineering, DFX, DFM, quality assurance and compliance relating to electromechanical manufacturing. The Electrical Engineer Manufacturing is familiar with the importance of providing feedback throughout the managed processes assuring process control and compliance of materials and products manufactured internally and externally. The Electrical Engineer Manufacturing coordinates or executes activities on multiple complex projects and takes a role in the design, qualification and execution of new projects. The Electrical Engineer Manufacturing adapts to multiple projects, effectively ensuring alignment with corporate goals and compliance with all specified regulatory requirements. The Electrical Engineer Manufacturing is responsible for establishing and tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to establish process controls and measure attainment to the controls. The Electrical Engineer Manufacturing is required to ensure full support to our suppliers as well as Engineering related to manufacturing and design changes so they can provide a timely and effective implementation to meet Doble's requirements. The Electrical Engineer Manufacturing coordinates and/or executes activities on multiple complex projects and takes a role in the qualification, development and manufacturability of material and products delivered to Doble for both mature products as well as new products globally. The Electrical Engineer Manufacturing will perfect production and test processes prior to release to contract manufacturing and external Doble sites. Specifically, the Electrical Engineer Manufacturing will work closely with cross functional teams both at Doble and at Doble's suppliers to ensure successful delivery of short term and long-term Manufacturing and Quality goals and objectives, while aligning operational functions to meet business needs. This position will assist in continuing engineering sustainability efforts to ensure the safety, repeatability, and continuous improvement of process, products and customer satisfaction. Execution of product compliance requirements and related documentation will also be a responsibility of this role. This role will be based in our Marlborough, MA office reporting to the Customer Support Operations Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



  • Support Manufacturing Engineering across multiple sites, including, Test Engineering, internal and external production, QA, QC and others as assigned, ensuring team's successful delivery and achievement of business goals.
  • Proven project management skills and ability to meet critical deadlines while supporting multiple priorities in support of manufacturing and testing of Doble's products.
  • Drive root cause and corrective actions internally and externally as required using Doble's SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action) and NCR (Non-Conforming Report) processes.
  • Understand the importance of Metrics (KPI's Key performance Indicators) as related to SPC (Statistical Process Control) to identify and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support Manufacturing programs and test systems, recommending and implementing improvements and as appropriate.
  • Support the development and documentation of assembly procedures, policies, protocols and standards to support GxP activities.
  • Oversee quality activities to ensure effectiveness and compliance, such as document and change control procedures, deviations, and corrective action/preventative action.
  • Support internal activities to support compliance and audit readiness in close collaboration with all company stakeholders.
  • Create the necessary quality documentation to support the Quality Management System.
  • Ensure that the company's QMS adheres to ISO 9001:2015.
  • Support the internal audit program in order to verify QA's QMS.
  • Support the calibration status of all test and measurement equipment.
  • Track analyze and report on a wide range of metrics on a regular basis in addition to ad hoc reporting. Must be able to utilize a broad range of data tools with a high level of skill. Tools to include Salesforce, Navision (ERP), Empower (PLM), Excel, and other quality tracking reporting tools.
  • Support Quality audits/inspections (internal and external) and provide executive summaries to management.
  • Perform formal risk assessments internally, as well as with selected contract providers. determine audit intervals and establish level of risk.
  • Analyze failure rate trends, root cause and implement corrective actions to support all operational activities including, Engineering, Customer Care and Operations.
  • Demonstrate effective cross team skills in actions, communications, and management practices, while maintaining a strong customer focused approach
  • Develop, conduct, and monitor internal GxP training for employees.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.
  • Typical travel for this role is approximately 15%.



EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, or 5 years in in Manufacturing Engineering or Electrical Engineering position in lieu of a degree.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:



  • Requires 5 or more years as in a Manufacturing Engineering or Electrical Engineering position
  • Must have proven continuous improvement and problem-solving experience in complex manufacturing and service environment
  • Must have proven sustaining engineering experience
  • Must have a creative approach to problem solving with proven experience in the investigation to root cause and driving interim and long-term solutions for system related software errors and hardware failures to the module/subassembly/component level
  • Comprehensive understanding of ISO9000, ISO14000, ISO17025, European conformance (CE) standards, product directives (RoHS, WEEE), and other compliance requirements
  • Communicate with registrars as needed
  • Experience designing, implementing and leading process improvement, and changing initiatives
  • Experience developing, documenting, and implementing processes and procedure
  • Pareto failure rates and drive root cause, and corrective action implementation
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite of products


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:



  • Experience working in the utility or electronics industry, in a medium to high volume manufacturing environment is a plus

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.
