Marketing Specialist, Health Systems US Pain

Job Description

Vertex is seeking a talented individual to join our US Pain Marketing Team to transform the way pain is treated. The Health Systems Marketing Specialist, US Pain, will be a critical role in supporting the team in executing Health System engagement and marketing activities targeting formulary decision makers (FDMs). This would include executing on the branded speakers bureau and congress plans, print management, and leading key congress and marketing automation content through CRC for the team. We are seeking a candidate who is a quick learner, detail-oriented, and clear communicator. The successful candidate will have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovation-focused environment. This role will report to the Director of Health Systems Marketing for the US Pain Business Unit.

Location: Boston, MA (3 days onsite, 2 days remote weekly)

Key Responsibilities:

Congresses & Meetings support for the Heath Systems Engagement Assoc. Dir.

  • Implements health system conference plans and other health system event sponsorships, including engagement with conference organizers and agencies; prepares NAFs and sponsorship requests, coordinates with conference agency of record, ensures preparation of supporting media and materials

  • Manages financial payments to congresses including setting up new vendors, creating purchase orders, processing and managing invoices, and communicating internally and externally to ensure accuracy and timeliness

Speaker Programs and Symposia support for the HS Engagement Assoc. Dir.

  • Supports execution of branded FDM speaker programs, including field coordination, speaker scheduling, and reporting of activities

  • Tracks Transfer of Value for FDMs, including collecting materials required for submissions, reporting within Vertex systems, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure compliance with Vertex standards

FDM Marketing Content

  • Creates derivative print and digital materials for sponsorship advertisements and marketing automation; leads CRC reviews for this content and ensures timelines are met to ensure delivery

  • Print management, fulfillment, and stocking across the health systems team, including collaborating with marketing operations and external print vendor to ensure store front is always up to date with approved materials for ordering, and key contact for field on print needs

Digital Marketing and Non-personal Promotion

  • Implements non-personal and digital tactics targeting FDMs; includes tactics to direct FDMs to formularydecisions.com in collaboration with US Market Access lead

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

  • Typically requires 2+ years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Required/Preferred Skills:

  • Fundamental oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to exchange straightforward information

  • Comfort owning pieces in CRC reviews

  • Good knowledge of computer-based programs including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Good knowledge of Salesforce applications (Veeva, PromoMats, etc.) desirable

  • Basic knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry business, policies, and procedures

  • Basic scientific knowledge and ability to understand complex markets

  • Healthcare marketing or sales experience
