Senior Accounting Analyst
Status: Exempt (salaried) Department: Finance/Accounting Position Summary The Senior Accounting Analyst - Government Accounting is a vital member of the Finance/Accounting team. Acting independently, this position plays a key role in major business initiatives with the Department of Energy, Department of Defense and DoD Primes. Responsibilities extend to supporting local and state reporting requirements in connection with economic development incentives. This role must be occupied by someone who is comfortable shifting priorities and lending finance expertise within diverse work assignments. Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Primary analyst for program teams interfacing with the Department of Energy, Department of Defense, DoD Primes
- Assist the organization in complying with applicable FAR, DFARS and CAS regulations for DoE and DoD proposal submissions and negotiation
- Track revenue recognition, cash flow, program expenditures and estimates at completion, proving variance as appropriate
- Complete all contractual financial reporting requirements including monthly progress billings, program forecasts of revenues and costs
- Develop an internal DoE / DoE program review cadence
- Primary external audit interface for programs selected for review
- Responsible for annual ICE submission
- Interface with global finance functions as appropriate in support of FP&A activities
- Lead financial support of local and state reporting requirements tied to economic incentive awards, grants and abatements
- Assist with analyzing financial data and modeling forward-looking financial metrics
- Prepare and provide ad hoc reporting and analysis requested by Management and department leaders as needed to support the business
- Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions
- Perform all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience
- BS degree in Accounting/Finance; MBA and/or relevant certification (CPA, CFA, CMA) preferred
- Five (5) or more years of related work experience; experience within a public company manufacturing operation is highly preferred
- Financial analysis experience in the U.S. DoE or DoD contracting industry
- US Government contracting experience including familiarity with FAR, DFARS and CAS rules and regulations
- Familiarity with costing and pricing compliant US DoD proposals
- Familiarity with US GAAP
- Ability to interface and with various cross functional teams and work effectively with various levels of the organization
- Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate financial metrics to diverse audiences and stakeholders

- Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
- Superior communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software
- Experience with ERP systems; navigating, downloading data into Excel for analysis

- Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality
- Exempt employees are expected to work as many hours as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities. This may require they work more than eight hours a day and more than five days or 40 hours per week.
Pay Rate:
$69,900.00 - $104,900.00
