Description Maine Medical Center Professional - Nonclinical Req #: 11864 Summary Summary: The Laboratory Animal Technician II role is responsible for participating in the day-to-day operations of the MaineHealth Institute for Research (MHIR) Animal Facility, ensuring proper care and humane treatment of animals during their use in research through performing husbandry, animal procedures, health observations, and facility checks. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) 1. Education: Associate degree in an Animal Science program preferred. 2. License/Certifications: Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) certification is required within 1.5 years of hire date. 3. Experience: Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Laboratory Animal Technician I role.
