The Intern, Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) will provide support to administrative hospital leadership teams with the Hackensack Meridian Health network. The intern will shadow hospital leadership and work on projects in assigned areas. The intern will be exposed to healthcare operations within SDOH and Food Security services.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Intern, Social Determinants of Health at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

• Supports SDOH hospital leadership teams by contributing to food security initiatives and project deliverables.
• Spends time in the SDOH department and assists with the food security programming under the direction of the Food Security Coordinator.
• Supports operational of food security initiatives needs through data analysis, interpretation, and presentation.
• Participates in meetings with department leaders and team members to further understand departmental operations.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Graduate students pursuing a master's degree.
• Proficient in Google Suite including GoogleSheets.
• Strong communication, public speaking, and customer service skills.
• Conscientious self-starter with good organization.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• Passionate and knowledgeable about food security issues in New Jersey.
• Desiring to learn more about hospital healthcare.

Licenses and Certifications Preferred:

• Master's degree.
