What you'll be doing...

As the Project/Program-Sr Mgr you'll leverage your project management and systems background to help in planning and development of the Verizon Business Group (VBG) payment program. The role's mission is to work closely with cross-functional SMEs and business stakeholders to identify key system attributes and integration elements to implement this large platform change. The Project Manager will possess a blend of business and technical expertise with a firm understanding of Verizon systems.

You will utilize your vast project/program management acumen to collaborate with internal GTS SMEs and architects to build out this new payment platform, as well as work with our 3rd party vendor to align on requirements and integration points. Similarly, you'll work closely with our Verizon Consumer Group (VCG) counterparts to manage the common platform synergies and common Jira stories. You'll also be required to help launch a trial (pilot program) with select VBG customers and also manage the eventual launch deliverables and project timelines to ensure a successful launch.

Your work will help maintain Verizon's leadership position by anticipating Business customer needs and shaping our future offerings to meet them. Your vision and leadership will help us realize what's next for Verizon.

  • Work closely with the product team and GTS to formalize the stories and meet project timelines.

  • Collaborate with the 3rd party vendor to align on platform requirements and deliverables.

  • Manage schedules across multiple teams, and work with respective peers to drive awareness and socialization of this project.

  • End-to-end ownership of the entire product development lifecycle from creation to release and lifecycle management post launch.

  • Identify program KPIs and use them as benchmarks for project launch as well as pre launch pilot programs.

  • Monitor voice of customer feedback post launch to gather key insights to help shape the product experience and future enhancements.

  • Work closely with product stakeholders to define and drive product vision and distill a very strategic product commercialization.

  • Work closely with product stakeholders to define MVPs, manage product backlog priorities, and strategically de-scope to achieve rapid feedback cycles and meet launch timelines.

What we're looking for... You'll need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Four or more years of experience in product development, portfolio strategy, or related field.

  • Three or more years in the wireless/telecommunications, marketing or Finance.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:
  • A Master's degree or MBA.

  • Verizon LBA/PRT process knowledge and past product experience.

  • Jira stories development experience on large complex projects.

  • Ability to translate market knowledge and strategy into compelling stories and tools.

  • Authored device requirements or test plans in your previous roles.

  • Experience with product launches and developing product roadmaps.

  • Strong communication, presentation, decision making and negotiation skills.

  • Experience in project management tools and techniques.

  • Passionate about learning about new wireless products, devices and software technology and application trends.

  • Experience with building cross-functional relationships in a fast paced, demanding environment.

  • Technical and analytical skills, including the ability to understand and effectively communicate highly complex technical information.

For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances. If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $108,000.00 and $219,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
