Discover why Cooper University Health Care is the employer of choice in South Jersey Short Description The Music Therapist will plan, organize, and provide therapy that creates a caring and therapeutic environment, addresses mental health needs of the patient, and positively impacts the patient's/family's reaction to hospitalization. The Music Therapist will promote and encourage positive coping skills for patients/their families and will provide opportunities for growth and development through music, play, learning, and self-expression. Responsibility: Experience Required 0-2 years experience, 3-5 years experience preferred, in music therapy Education Requirements Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy - required, Master's - preferred. License/Certification Requirements Board Certified as a Music Therapist by the Certification Board for Music Therapy (MT-BC)- required Must obtain board certification within 6 months of hire, if new grad Skills/Qualifications: Communication-Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and coworkers-required Knowledge of cognitive, social, and emotional development in children-required CPR-BLS- preferred Special Requirements full time, 40 hours a week Apply
