UT Parking and Transportation Services is responsible for the management of over 17,000 parking spaces on campus, including 12 parking garages and more than 50 surface parking lots. Our operations include the distribution and regulation of daily, permitted, and event parking, as well as the maintenance of parking lots and garages. We also provide assistance to those parked on or traveling through campus. This assistance includes jump-starts and opening vehicles for those locked out. Purpose

To oversee the parking services program at all UT parking areas. Responsible for the daily parking operations by enforcing parking policies and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises assigned employees of a parking services operation. Responsible for the daily or event parking operations and for enforcing parking policies and regulations through assigned staff. Responsible for supervising the daily or event parking operations in order to keep parking areas accessible to authorized permit holders and event patrons. Implements parking operations, policies and regulations. Provides guidance to assigned staff on parking issues and customer service skills.
  • Evaluates staff in the operations of parking facilities. Determines personnel, work schedules, equipment, materials and supplies needed for parking operations and events. Resolves issues or complaints from faculty, staff, students, and the public. Arranges for necessary signage, barricades, maps, or passes needed for any parking purposes. Supervises cash operations and provides reports to management. Responds to emergency situations and complies with departmental protocol.
  • May oversee the setup, take down, and inventory of all equipment needed for parking arrangements. May prepare reports regarding operation and status of area responsibility. May develop and conduct ongoing training sessions for parking personnel. May schedule routine vehicle maintenance and other repairs as needed. Drives UT vehicle.
  • Performs related duties as assigned. Occasional weekend, holiday, comp, and overtime hours required as needed. Must work each home football game.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and three years of related experience in the operation of parking facilities or high-volume parking systems. Cash handling experience and the use of tools applicable to the trade.

Preferred Qualifications

More than the required minimum number of years of experience. Working knowledge of T2 FLEX software and Amano equipment. Familiarity with relevant university policies/procedures. Completion of the university's Management Essentials Certificate.

Driver Required

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three-year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

Salary Range

$50,000 + depending upon qualifications
