    Job Responsibilities:
    1. Makes scheduled repairs to maintain buildings, including carpentry, painting, general maintenance and grounds as necessary.
    2. Inspects and performs scheduled preventive maintenance on the facilities heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, security, fire alarm and emergency lighting systems. Ensures these systems are operating properly and efficiently.
    3. Works with other trades (i.e. electrician, plumber, HVAC, carpenter, grounds and painter) when completing larger projects.
    4. Repair equipment such as desks, chairs, tables, lockers and other school equipment.
    5. Perform general maintenance repairs to lighting ballasts, switches, motors and outlets. Plumbing repairs such as rebuilding valves, drinking fountains, cleaning drain lines, replacing supply lines, pulling and resetting fixtures. Equipment trouble shooting and repair including motor, brush, switches and belt replacement on a variety of equipment.
    6. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of specialty equipment.
    7. Coordinate and perform grounds maintenance duties such as snow removal, mowing, trimming, and cleaning up debris.
    8. Work with other Maintenance Specialists to perform the deliveries, shipping and receiving duties.
    9. Operate steam or hot water boilers, water heaters, compressors and other pressure vessels in accordance with Minnesota State Statutes. Clean, repair, test all equipment as well as testing to insure proper chemical levels in the boilers and swimming pools. Ensures all systems are operating at a peak efficiency level.
    10. Makes emergency repairs on building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Help maintain and update inventory of needed supplies and equipment.
    11. Provide assistance to other specialists and custodial personnel as directed.
    12. Perform other related duties and assume other responsibilities as apparent or assigned.

    Job Qualifications:
    1. Must have at least a special boiler operators license and a willingness to obtain a 2nd class and 1st class boiler operators license as soon as permitted by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry.
    2. Willingness to obtain a certified pool operators license when required by the District
    3. Valid drivers license with driving record acceptable to District insurance carrier
    4. High school graduate or equivalent.
    5. Evidence of excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
    6. Basic computer skills for operation of a personal computer, energy management system and tank monitoring systems.
    7. Detail oriented with demonstrated ability to organize and maintain records
    8. Demonstrated accurate mathematical skills
    9. Customer service oriented with positive interpersonal skills
    10. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both written and orally
    11. Strong leadership skills.
    12. Strong interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
    13. Ability to adapt to a continously changing schedule.
