A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
This role will focus mostly on internal Javascript applications used for Content Management and Media Asset Management, but will also contribute to consumer-facing Web applications. These internal content tools are component-driven, highly scalable, and use a 'platform-forward' architecture - they support countless different business units, features, and user-stories, but rely on the same libraries, frameworks and services. From a day-to-day basis, you'll focus on:

  • New component development - as our Business Partners request new features, they build and maintain functional components in the CMS, Layout Manager, and Front-End client applications.

  • New Business Units - As Fox creates or acquires new brands, developers spin up new instances of our Platform and design new, custom features for BU-specific needs

  • Build for the Future - work to modernize our existing Platform, testing new frameworks and building on the latest Cloud infrastructure

Technologies:

  • AWS: EC2, Lambda, RDS, Elasticsearch, Elasticache, S3, SQS, Kinesis

  • Typescript

  • GitHub

  • Jira

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Relevant engineering experience

  • Detail oriented with strong communication skills

  • Semantic code - use best practices to write clear, easy-to-read, 'DRY' code

  • Familiar with at least one JavaScript framework (React, Vue, Angular, Svelte, etc)

  • Proficient in CSS/Responsive design

  • Familiar with a Version Control system, ie GitHub

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Familiarity with Typescript

  • Proficiency writing unit tests and end-to-end tests

  • Write JavaScript in multiple contexts (ie, not just client-side)

  • Awareness of the latest CSS specification, modernize our applications with the latest and greatest
